Keep OG image when using 'Save as Copy'

I have a consistent OG image I would like to use for a weekly article.
The routine I use is to open the previous week's article and use the Joomla 'Save as Copy' to create the next new article.
However, the OG image used in the previous article is removed - is there any it could be automatically kept?

Hi Denis,

Unfortunately this is not something we can support automatically. Since Route 66 now uses URL-based page detection, OG data (including the OG image) is strictly tied to the page URL.

When you use “Save as Copy” in Joomla, the new article gets a new URL, so Route 66 correctly treats it as a completely new page and does not inherit OG data from the previous one.

For now, the OG image needs to be set again for the new article. Reusing OG data across different URLs would risk applying incorrect metadata to unrelated pages, which is why the current behavior is intentional.
