Hi, I'm using the free version of Route 66. I have a similar error to the one described in the post by Lefteris Kavadas on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, 11:30 AM. My sites also use Joomla 5.3 or 5.4 (both versions have the same error). Today I installed the latest version of Route 66 (pkg_route66-2.2.0.zip from October 15, 2025). Every time I try, I get the error: JInstaller: :Install: Error SQL You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MariaDB server version for the correct syntax to use near 'GENERATED ALWAYS AS (concat(`component`, '.',`view`, '.',`key`)) VIRTUAL, `...' at line 21 Extension installation stopped. Package Update: There was an error installing the extension: com_route66.zip The following message appears on the page: Failed opening required '/var/www/vhosts/xxxxxxx.pl/administrator/components/com_route66/lib/seoanalyzer.php' (include_path='.:/opt/plesk/php/8.2/share/pear') Every time I try to update Route66, I have to completely restore my website. When will the free version receive the necessary fix? Regards

Hi Jarosław,

This error occurs because your hosting server is running an older version of MariaDB that doesn’t support virtual columns, which are required by the latest version of Route 66.

Please ask your hosting provider to update MariaDB to version 10.6 or later — once that’s done, the installation will complete successfully.

This requirement applies to both the free and pro versions of Route 66.

Let me know if you need any help confirming your current MariaDB version or coordinating with your host.

Best regards,
Lefteris

You’re very welcome!

Perfect — please let me know once your hosting provider updates MariaDB, and I’ll be happy to assist further if needed.

Best regards,
Lefteris
