Is it possible to configure the plugin so that only the parent category of the Joomla article is visible, and not its subcategories?

In our case:
https://www.agrigal.com/ricette/antipasti/ricetta-tartare-di-manzo
should become
https://www.agrigal.com/ricette/ricetta-tartare-di-manzo

where "ricette" is the parent category and "antipasti" is a subcategory of it.

Hi Pierre,

Thanks for your message.

If I understand correctly, you’d like the article URL to include only the top-level (parent) category, and exclude any subcategories — for example:

/ricette/ricetta-tartare-di-manzo

instead of

/ricette/antipasti/ricetta-tartare-di-manzo.

At the moment, the plugin supports displaying either the full category path or just the specific category the article belongs to. Unfortunately, it’s not currently possible to show only the parent category in the URL while excluding its subcategories.

That said, I’ll note this as a feature request for future versions.

Let me know if you need help adjusting your current settings or have any other questions!

Best regards,
Lefteris
