EDIT I've just noticed I duplicated the topic. Sorry for that.

Hi,

I'm using Econa in custom field mode. I've added Econa twice for every article, so one image is for article thumbnail in category blog view, while the other is for article view only (usually the same source image). So far it worked flawless both in Joomla 5.x and in Joomla 6.0.0. BUT when I've installed Joomla 6.0.1, after I crop image in Econa and click 'Apply', I get error 'No valid image was loaded.' In preview mode the image is stil uncropped, but when I save the whole article, the image in Econa field is automagically cropped.

Kindest regards

Olek

Hi Olek,

Thank you for the detailed report.

This behaviour is caused by a change introduced in Joomla 5.4.1 and also present in Joomla 6.0.1 that affects how the CMS handles images during the preview step. As a result, Econa shows the message “No valid image was loaded” after cropping, and the preview does not update — even though the crop is applied correctly once the article is saved.

We have already implemented a fix for this issue, and an update of Econa will be released very soon.

Thank you for your patience, and sorry for the inconvenience.

Kind regards,
Lefteris

Hi, thank you for the fix. However, with this fix your extension again lost possibility of displaying alt in modal view. I've modified the modal.js the way you told me to in my old ticket, but it will probably get lost after every future update.

Hi Olek,

Thank you for the feedback.

Good news — we’ve now integrated the modal caption / alt text handling directly into the extension. This means you no longer need to modify modal.js manually, and your changes won’t be lost in future updates.

This improvement will be included in the next Econa release.

Thanks again for pointing this out and for your patience.

Kind regards,
Lefteris
