I am trying to understand how to use the comment box.

Do I need to create a page for It?

The instructions are vague and hard to understand.

Can you create a video to help me walk through the steps and how to implement the box.

Is this for the whole site or just one page or article.

I put it on the top left of module 5

I logged in on the site as per request at the bottom of the page for the article

There was no place for me to leave a comment.

Going to the Extension for this, selecting CommentBox there were no comments to look at.

It is set to position 5, the left part of the template, which I normally do not put a component into

Are there instructions on how I access this or how comments are recorded?

Is there anything I must enable for it to work?

Please advise. Thank you for your help

Hi,

Thanks for your message — I understand the confusion, and I’m here to help.

You don’t need to create any pages manually. CommentBox automatically associates comments with the pages where they’re submitted. You can later manage those pages (e.g., disable or close comments) via the backend.

In most cases, after installing CommentBox, you just need to review the settings — the default configuration usually works out of the box.

I had a look at your site, and I do see the comment box working correctly. You can find more guidance in the CommentBox documentation, and of course, feel free to ask here anytime. I’ll also consider your request for a walkthrough video — that’s a great idea and will be helpful for other users as well.

Let me know if you’d like help adjusting the settings.

Best regards,
Lefteris

Yes, it is working now. I still have to disable the content plugin for it not to crash the site.

My emails were not working properly, and I was able to repair this.

The content plugin i believe, is just a link at the bottom of my editor for a function?

Thanks for your help.

Hi,

Thanks for the update — I’m glad to hear things are mostly working now.

Just to clarify, the CommentBox Content plugin should remain enabled for everything to work properly. I just checked your website, and I can see that the plugin is currently enabled and functioning as expected.

Could you please confirm what you meant by needing to disable it to avoid crashes? Is it possible that you’re referring to a different plugin, or maybe a specific scenario that causes the issue?

Let me know so I can take a closer look and help you resolve it fully.

Best regards,
Lefteris

The regular site is not working with content box active.

If I deactivate it then it works

I sent you a screen shot of it.

Do I need to wait until the changed version is available?

Hi,

We’ve just released CommentBox v1.1.2, which includes the fixes I had previously applied to your staging site.

You can go ahead and update to the latest version now. Once updated, please check if everything works as expected and let me know if you run into any issues.

Happy to assist further if needed!

Best regards,
Lefteris
