Can the gallery plugin make galleris where thumbnails have equal height but different width ?

Hi Ronny,
Have you tried to set the "Thumbnail Image Resize Method" to "Fit"?
This should cover your needs. It will create the thumbnails based on max width and height options and then in the front-end you can display them as you wish.
If the built in layouts do not fit your needs I can help you add the required CSS code to make it look exactly as you wish. Do you have a screenshot of what you want your gallery to look like?

Hmmm - but if the plugin always shows 4 columns, how can this be done ?? Please see this page: http://telefontavlen.ableit-dev.dk/lasesmede/sydsjaellands-laseservice all images should have the same height: 100px.
