#1112 – Enabling Route 66 Breaks Existing Menu Items

Status: Closed - Category: Route 66
Hello, I have installed R66 on a site and it broke some of the menu items.
I discovered it's because the two different language menu items have the same alias.

So the US url = domain.com/sectors/consumer-goods
And the UK url = domain.com/uk/sectors/consumer-goods

Everything works perfectly until I enable the R66 plugin and I get 404s on some of the pages.

Is there any way around this or do I have to go through and change either all of the UK or US alaises?
Thanks
Hi Sarah,

Have you set any URL patterns in Route 66? Can you please explain the issue in detail?
Which version of Joomla are you using? Are you using the core multi-language features of Joomla or a third party extension?

Regards

Hello again!
We have J‎4.4.0 with core multi-lang and R66 1.9.10.
I have discovered that if I set 'Add suffix to menu links' to Yes and add anything in the 'Menu links suffix' it works as expected!
I have not set anything in the Article, Category or Tags URL patterns as we are happy with the Joomla URL patterns (which means the 'Menu links suffix' does not show anyway).
Thanks
S :)
Hi Sarah,

This sounds really weird! I will troubleshoot this.
Thank you for reporting this.
