#558 – #99 – Delete uploaded original images

Hi Lefteris,

I come back to my ticket #99 – Delete uploaded original images: I have just cleaned up a webserver with 3GB of images in /media/showtime/storage/source ... This is because there were hundreds of big pictures that were uploaded and stored for Showtime Image Gallery.

Therefore I would kindly like to ask you to offer an addon enables one to delete image out of the source folder based on date, e.g. uploaded before 2019-07-01 or so ...

It would also be good to have an option to choose wheter source images are stored or not.

THIS WOULD REALLY BE HELPFUL.

Hi Joachim,

I understand completely this request but I am not sure I want to add something that most users will use it and break the extension. In the latest version we have added an option to resize the original images. If you enable this the original images will be resized at a maximum width of 2000 pixels in order to avoid storing very large files and save some disk space.

If you don't want to remove the images manually then I can write a CLI script for you to remove the images ( or resize them if you wish). But this would not be part of the extension and it will have an extra cost.

thanks for your feedback - I will check with my colleague wheter we nee a CLI script or not. Probably resizing to 2000px would solve our problem.
