#147 – Module

 I have created a module, and added Categories in the order I want them to appear on the web page. The order is set to Default, but the galleries are still showing order by added date (newest to oldest).

Is there a way to sort galleries by how I want them sorting ?

Hi,

The order field has to do with galleries, not categories. The "Default" option means that the galleries will get sorted based on the ID. There is no custom ordering in the module.

If you just want to display some specific galleries just use a "Custom HTML" module and then load the galleries in the order you wish using something like :

{showtime 4}
{showtime 7}
{showtime 9}

The code above will display the gallery with ID 4, then gallery with ID 7 and finally gallery with ID 9.

Just make sure that you set the "Prepare Content" option of the "Custom HTML" module to "Yes".

Would sorting by id (default) not be the same as sorting by Created Date ?

Usually in Joomla you can change the creation date of the content. However, for Showtime Image Gallery, that's not the case. So technically you are right, currently "Default" and "Creation date" should give the same results. We will consider removing one of the two options.
