#1021 – Display Single Gallery with Override Template

Status: Closed - Category: Showtime Image Gallery
Hi there,

I need to display a single gallery, but I have to override the carousel layout for it.
With the custom field plugin it was no problem at all, but how do I do this when I need to put a gallery in a module (to load it into SP Pagebuilder)?

I have seen that there are layouts for the module that can be easily overridden. But in that module I do not find a easy option to choose a single gallery. Is that right? I only can put each gallery in an own category and than select that category? Is there any whay I can choose a single existing gallery (like with the editor button)?
If that can only be achieved with a core override of the module, I would also do that.

The other way was to create a custom module and load the gallery there (which is comfortable). But I don't find a way to override the layout for the carousel when choosing this possibility.

Can anyone help with this problem?
Kind regards,
Tanja
Hi Yannick,

You can use the core "Custom HTML" module and just insert a gallery using the editor button.
May I ask, where did you get Showtime Image Gallery from? I don't see any subscriptions in your account.

Hi Lefteris,

I know that I can use the Custom HTML module and insert the single gallery there. But the problem is, like I said before:

The other way was to create a custom module and load the gallery there (which is comfortable). But I don't find a way to override the layout for the carousel when choosing this possibility.

So if I load the gallery that way, I don't know how to override the carousel layout. Maybe you can tell me which file to use?

The reason why you don't see the active subscription is that we needed to create a new user in February and there subscribed to all extensions. I am just logged in with the old username. The new username is webman, if you want to check for a valid subscription.

Kind regards
Tanja

Thank you for clarifying.

You can edit the gallery in the custom html module and under the options choose the desired layout for the specific gallery.
Since this is a gallery inside an editor, the layout override location is under /templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/html/plg_content_showtime/LAYOUT_NAME.php
You can even create a completely new layout by using a custom name like "mycarousel.php".

You can learn more about the layout overrides at the documentation page at https://www.firecoders.com/documentation/showtime-image-gallery#layouts

Please let me know if you need more help.

Hi Lefteris,

thank you very much. I just haven't thought of the content plugin and therefore couldn't find the layout file.
Now it works like I expected it.

Kind regards,
Tanja
