#356 – Econa standalone image uploader?

Status: Closed - Category: Econa
Just a thought: Maybe it would be notice to be able to use Econa as a 'stand-alone' upload tool for images to a website. This way users can upload and scale / rotate images and multiple file sizes will be saved automatically. I think we then would need to let the user choose a folder (under images) and the somehow store the images with prefixes in that folder.

A user can then use the different sizes for the Joomla list an detail (full) view or create a simple image lightbox in an article, using a small size as thumb and a larger size as lightbox image.

On most of our websites we use JCE. The image upload function also provides a way to create a thumb and some editing option, but our clients find this a bit hard to use. Econa's way of uploading and editing images is very nice. So that's why I ask this question.

Not a big thing, as I said it's just a thought ;-)

Kind regards,
Jip
What you describe sounds like a new media manager for Joomla. I was in the mood for creating a new media manager for Joomla but since J4 is coming and has a new one, I decided that it makes no sense.
Any thoughts are welcome.

Regards

I have not taken a closer look at the new media manager of J4 yet. Maybe you're right and that will be a great new tool. We'll wait and see ;-)
Do you think there will be also new features in J4 that might do the same things Econa plugins do now?
Yes, Joomla 4 media manager allows you to crop and resize images like Econa.

OK, thanks!
